RMA and Sibanye Stillwater donate face masks to

Gauteng communities

Sibanye-Stillwater in partnership with Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) and Nkateko, a women’s sewing project from Bekkersdal has launched a cloth face mask project. Nkateko started as a social and labour plan project and is now a fully-fledged business that is also the recipient of the Sibanye-Stillwater’s CEO SMME Fund to purchase additional equipment to expand its business. The project is aimed at empowering and creating jobs for community members of Libanon in Westoneria. The company will produce cloth masks for different beneficiaries valued at R500 000 as part of the partnership and have already delivered masks for Goldfields and corporate clothing for Sibanye-Stillwater.

RMA and Sibanye donate food parcels to communities in the Eastern Cape

The COVID 19 pandemic continues to affect the lives and livelihoods of our local communities. In response to the impact of the pandemic, we partnered with Sibanye Stillwater on several initiatives where we offered support to our communities during this challenging time. We started our journey on the 1st of July 2020 to the Municipality Chamber in Queenstown, handing over food parcels to the Chris Hani district and moved across communities nationally to hand out more food parcels. The final leg of our journey ended at Joe Gqabi District, in Aliwal North on the 3rd of July 2020. This initiative has been a huge success and our members worked tirelessly to ensure that the food parcels are packed and ready for distribution. We have donated a total of 1889 food parcels to the Chris Hani, Joe Gqabi and Amatole districts in the Eastern Cape, providing care with a difference.
