Community Outreach day at Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape
On the 7th of March 2020, we partnered with the Department of Employment and Labour as well as other stakeholders including TEBA and The Federated Employers Mutual Assurance Company (FEMA) in a Community Outreach day in Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape. The purpose of the outreach was to provide access of our services to ex-mine workers within the Cofimvaba community. We engaged with 123 people for injury and compensation related inquiries as well as a few of our RMA pensioners.

RMA Sponsors Pensioner Jean-Paul Veaundry for the 2020 AmpSurf ISA World Para Surfing Championships.
Jean-Paul Veaundry is an RMA pensioner with a below the knee amputation on his right leg. He has been surfing since he was 12 years old and since his accident in 2009, he has been competing in many Paralympic-style surfing competitions.
In September last year he was selected by Robin de Kock, General Manager of Surfing South Africa, to attend the 2020 World Para Surfing Championships, which was held at La Jolla shores, San Diego, California, USA on 11-15 March 2020.
To help Jean-Paul achieve his dream, we made a sponsorship toward his travel costs.
This global event was the highest level of surfing, for a Para surfing athlete like Jean-Paul to compete in where he achieved 3rd place with a bronze medal in the PS-Stand 2 Open. Congratulations Jean-Paul, this is an outstanding achievement and we are very proud of you.
