RMA’s Highlights for 2020

As 2020 draws to a close we would like to thank you for entrusting us to take care of your compensation needs and for your ongoing support during 2020. As we wrap up the year, we take time to reflect on the highlights of the year that has passed.

2020 was a challenging year, as we faced a worldwide pandemic which caused significant economic turmoil, resulting in new and irreversible hardships for many. To prevent and manage the spread of COVID-19, we implemented remote working policies to ensure that we could provide you with the highest level of service during the lock down period, while safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our employees, clients and claimants. We also did our bit to help those who were affected by COVID-19 by supporting various efforts and initiatives toward COVID-19 relieve programmes.

This year marked 126 years of RMA looking after the safety, health and financial wellness of hundreds and thousands of employees in the mining and metals sector, ensuring that we provide caring, compassionate, compensation always. Achieving this milestone is also a huge testament to our legacy which is solid, unchangeable and it provides us with a very strong foundation to continue to offer Caring, Compassionate, Compensation well into the future. We also welcomed our new CEO Mandla Shezi, who assumed office on 1 July 2020 and will continue to build onto our amazing 126 years of legacy.

The RMA headquarters moved from 22 and 23 Wellington Road to our new office building located at no 10 St Andrews Road, Parktown Johannesburg. RMA's head office operations previously were spread between two buildings and this move is to bring about continuous collaboration and a cohesive environment allowing us to better deliver on our brand promise of caring, compassionate compensation at every level of the organisation. We are confident that this move will positively affect our employees and improve service delivery to our stakeholders.

Our successes this year were also attributed to our staff who were dedicated and committed to delivering you Caring, Compassionate, Compensation, whilst working remotely during this challenge period. We would like to wish you and your families a joyous, peaceful, and restful festive season, and look forward to continuing to provide you with the highest level of service into 2021.
